CONSOLIDATE REPORT ON I.S
|
Research has been undertaken by the partners through a variety of desk research.
An overview of the national reports demonstrates that the vast majority of the enterprises are SMEs. It is generally accepted that SMEs are the driving force for development and innovation in all economies. However, all partners have concluded that there is a lack of safety awareness and safety measures regarding Information Security, especially in SMEs.

MODULAR TRAINING DEVELOPMENT
|
The “CISO in SMEs” project is a LLP Transfer of Innovation project which is based on a former project called “Insemot in SMEs”.
The main aim of the INSEMOT project was to help the owner/s and staff of SMEs/MEs to understand their obligations regarding to Information Security and to comply with the relevant legislation that applies to capturing, storing and processing the data in their countries. The project sought to achieve this goal by providing these businesses with a multi-national information portal and a modular training programme on Information Security.
The “CISO in SMEs” project has seen the introduction of new partners in Bulgaria, Poland and Greece and an accreditation body from Poland called VCC.
Thus, work is progressing with the modular training development of a blended learning mix of classroom, e-learning and self-study units in the new partner languages and is being reviewed by VCC. The Polish, Bulgarian and Greek beta versions of the CISO in SMES learning environment are now up and running. Interactive online units have been developed and partners are now working on the online documents to be downloaded and will end with classroom materials.
The course is based on the curriculum that was developed in the former project that serves as a handbook for teachers in the field of Information Security Management, under the base of how to organise a Training Workshop on Information Security Management and was designed for owners/managers and employees of SMEs.
We hope to have the learning environment completed at the beginning of 2015.

RESULTS OF INTERNAL EVALUATION
|
The first year of our CISO project has passed and we decided to analyze all aims reached so far by doing an evaluation report: “CISO Interim Evaluation on products and processes” follows the QM methodology defined in the CISO QUALITY MANAGEMENT MANUAL. All partners are committed with the quality of the project processes and products, and assume that quality assurance is an integral part of the overall working programme of the CISO project
ANALYSIS OF THE OUTCOMES AT INTERIM STAGE
- CISO Information Security Portal: The consortium is convinced that the CISO Information Security Portal is a useful tool that will help SMEs/MEs and their employees and it is considered that the quality of the information of the portal is of a high standard.
- • Modular blended learning training curriculum: The vast majority of the partners are satisfied with the modular blended training curriculum so far. The modular approach allows a high degree of flexibility: owners of SMEs are able to choose the modules they need. This saves at the same time costs and time, which is highly appreciated.
- • Rating on product level: The products represent a cost-effective business opportunity as well as they offer a new service to the other companies. The product will extend the portfolio of products and services of consortium partners, create new business opportunities, collaboration, partnering, and can be further integrated in a broader range of service chains. The successful implementation of the project will create the background to create partnerships and cooperate as partners in order to develop ideas and proposals for new innovation tools and solutions, and also to cooperate in other projects.
